Making Memories... and Props

Before I jump into this weeks props, I wanted to thank my gaggle of friends for the biggest surprise I could have imagined. I thought my younger brother was flying into Fresno for a visit, however my 3 great friends managed to hide a surprise and the three of them, and my kid brother showed up out of the darkness as my girlfriend and I were heading to the airport to pick up my kid brother... who was already here. Super shocking to see those 4 appear out of the darkness, total shock.

We have spent the last few days hanging out, laughing, picking, prodding, getting on each others nerves, but at the end of the day we will always get to Del Taco for the 'FRE SHA VOCA DO'.

This weeks prop making has been a little on the slow side, but I did manage to pick up one more commission before we head back to Michigan. Shaak Ti's lightsaber hilt. All I have managed to do thus far is get the print printed, (~9 hours on the printer).

I will assemble, with a 3/4" PVC pipe on the inside, to provide stability and strength. ABS welding the pieces together, than paint. I will take a picture of the finished work for next weeks post. However, right now, its a pile of pieces.

A few other quick commissions I had come in this week were chest badges for 2 Star Trek fan organizations: Fleet 31 and 1701st Fleet. Fairly quick and easy prints (~30 min), primer (shown), than paint.

Lastly in the picture above is a product that comes out my Etsy Shop: 3701 Creations. The piece is a Slip of Gold-Pressed Latinum, a form of currency from the Star Trek universe. Now that it is primed, some gold top coat and it will be ready to ship out!

I have a big post coming next week serving as a 'end of summer' 'what I did in California' summery showcasing some of the neat and awesome props I had the opportunity to work with this summer, so keep an eye out for that

Until next week, Ill keep making. Thanks for checking in.
